How to vote in Spanish general election 2026

The date comes from the Government’s official announcement. At this review, the BOE election decree and the official 29 November calendar await verification.

Provisional dates follow LOREG assuming publication of the election call on 6 October. They do not replace the official calendar. Census correction, postal deposit and overseas voting deadlines are pending.

Who can vote

Spanish citizenship, aged 18 by polling day and registered in the relevant electoral census. Residence in Spain without Spanish citizenship does not confer a vote in general elections.

Polling hours

09:00–20:00 in the polling station’s local time, including the Canary Islands.

Required identification

Original DNI, passport or driving licence with a photograph, even if expired; photocopies are not accepted. A census card does not replace identification.
