Comuns: Income tax: low and middle incomes

Published:

Context and scope

Historical tax agreement between Generalitat and Catalunya en Comú Podem, presented by Jéssica Albiach; not inferred from a vote on the entire budget. The tax agreement presented jointly with Jéssica Albiach reduces income tax for lower-income taxpayers and increases contributions from higher brackets. A regional 2019 measure; does not imply support for every cut or automatic indexation of all brackets.

Territorial evidence; used as context for this general policy question

Literal excerpt in its original language

la càrrega fiscal es redueix per als contribuents amb menor nivell de renda

How the quiz uses this evidence

Income tax should be reduced for people on low or middle incomes.

Income tax is charged on personal income. A cut leaves taxpayers more money and reduces revenue. Compare each party’s income limits, rates and deductions: supporting one specific cut does not mean supporting every cut.

Editorial coding: supports the proposal

The scale interprets the evidence; the party has not filled in our questionnaire.
