What happened
Montero presents her project to the Citizens’ Council following the primary result. Podemos retains cooperation with ERC and argues for an independent voice from PSOE.
Irene Montero presented her campaign to the national Citizens’ Council on 17 October. The primary held on 14–15 October, with results released on the 16th, gave her 24,136 votes as the sole candidate for prime minister. It was separate from the alliance consultation that received 87.78% support.
Montero defended the joint Canary and Valencian candidacies and campaign cooperation with Gabriel Rufián. She attributed the absence of other deals to political differences with Frente Amplio and criticised its proximity to PSOE. These are Podemos’s explanations; Colau gives her account at the Frente Amplio launch.

Votuo analysis
Primary support measures that vote rather than national electoral support. Campaigning with Rufián does not turn ERC’s lists into a nationwide Podemos coalition. Housing, wages and public services were speech priorities; specific programme commitments require separate assessment.
